All current PASD second and third grade families from Barkley, Manavon, and Schuylkill are invited to this exciting event! Students who are currently in second grade are eligible to join our orchestra to learn to play a string instrument (violin, viola, cello) next school year. And students who are currently in third grade are eligible to join our band to learn to play a band instrument (flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, percussion) next school year. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED... IT IS OUR JOB TO TEACH THE STUDENTS EVERYTHING THEY NEED TO KNOW!
Important Details
What will you learn by attending?
•This is an opportunity for families to learn about the PASD instrumental music programs, how
to secure an instrument for their student, meet the instrumental music teachers, and hear from representatives from our instrument rental partner,
Zeswitz Music.
•There will be one group presentation with all families together and then we will break into two groups, one for band and one for orchestra, so families can ask questions specific to each program.
•For potential string families, if families bring their current second grade students to the event, our string teachers can measure them, so they order the correct size instrument.
•Spanish and Portuguese interpreters will be at this event.
Is attendance required at this event?
•While we highly encourage families to attend this informational night, especially if your family is new to the instrumental music program, if you are unable to attend, your student is still eligible to sign up for band or orchestra. Simply reach out to their instrumental music teacher.
•If you have another student who is currently in or has been part of the band or orchestra programs in the past and you are already familiar with the instrumental program,
you can simply sign your student up. Don’t forget to visit the
Zeswitz Music website to secure an instrument for your student.
