Citadel Heart of Learning Award

It’s that time of year again!

Citadel and the Chester County Intermediate Unit are pleased to announce that the nomination period for the 2019 Citadel Heart of Learning Award is open.
The deadline for nominations is December 31, 2018.

Since the program’s inception, thousands of teachers have been nominated, hundreds of teachers have been named finalists, and to date 51 have been named winners at the annual awards banquet.

The 2018 Citadel Heart of Learning Award winners were:

Adam Speakman, Downingtown East High School
William Scott Golightly, Phoenixville Middle School
Kelly DeMillion, General Wayne Elementary

The nominations we receive speak volumes about the significant impact teachers have in our community.  I’m sure as you read this, you are already thinking of at least one teacher whose hard work and dedication touches the lives of students, their families and the community.  The Citadel Heart of Learning Award Committee would enjoy the opportunity to formally recognize and reward these efforts.

In addition, we hold the “Schools with Heart” contest, which rewards the entire school for nominating teachers.  The top three schools, in terms of overall nominations, will receive funds to be used for school assemblies or special events:  1st place - $1500, 2nd place - $750, 3rd place - $500.  It is a great way to get the entire student body involved in recognizing the efforts of their teachers.

Nomination forms may be sent in the mail, filled out at a Chester County Citadel branch, or submitted online at CitadelHeartofLearning.com.

Thank you for your continued support of the Citadel Heart of Learning Award and our dedicated teachers.
