Current Initiatives

fruitShare Tables
Share Tables are tables or stations where children may return whole food or beverage items they choose not to eat, if it is in compliance with local and State health and food safety codes.
These items are then made available for other students who want additional servings and at the end of the week are sent to the Phoenixville Area Community Services to feed families in need in our community.

Yoga and Gym Availability for Staff
The District is offering health options for staff including after-hours on site yoga classes and access to our state of the art cross fit gym in the High School and Rock Wall in the Middle School.

School Breakfast
We are working on making breakfast available for purchase for all students before school hours. Healthy, filling breakfasts are beneficial to students’ learning, and are supplied by PASD’s Food Service provider, Whitsons.

Aligning Health & Physical Education Curriculum
PASD is working to enhance the health and physical education curriculum for our students. The goal is to encourage an understanding of the importance of healthy living choices and way to sustain those choices beyond the student’s time at PASD.

Community Fitness Trailtrail

The Wellness Committee is spearheading efforts to create a community Fitness Trail on the Phoenixville Area School District campus. Currently, plans have been devised for a trail that will contain multiple terrains, that will span about 1.5 miles. The trail will feature multiple fitness stations, where trail-users will be able to do aerobic and anaerobic exercises. This trail will be available to community members during school and non-school hours, and will be physically located in both the Borough of Phoenixville and Schuylkill Township. We are hoping that the community will take full advantage of the trail and enjoy the beautiful campus of the Phoenixville Area School District!
